I developed a passion for glass when I took a class in glass blowing at Snow Farm in Williamsburg, MA. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the class I knew I did not have the strength or resources to continue but I still found class fascinating so looked for other ways to work with it. I discovered glass fusing and began making jewelry in a small kiln that fits in a microwave. I quickly learned that it is not as easy as it sounds, nor is it inexpensive. I went back to Snow Farm to take a class in glass fusing. Not long after I met a woman who was selling her glass kiln. It all fell into place, and I was able to get a used kiln and set up a workshop in my home. Eventually I had so much that I had to go to shows to sell my glass in order to make room for more. My dream is to someday be able to lead classes in fusing.
If I had unlimited resources, I would quit work and just make glass art. It is said that crafters make art to sell it, but artists sell art in order to make more art.
